How to calculate it
The arithmetic mean shares the total equally across all entries. For 10, 20, 30, and 40, the sum is 100 and there are four values. Dividing 100 by four gives a mean of 25. Each entry has equal weight.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use negative numbers and decimals?
Yes. Use a minus sign for negatives and a dot for decimals. Do not use commas as thousands separators: 1,000 is interpreted as two entries, 1 and 0. Enter 1000 instead.
Is this a weighted average?
No. Every entry counts equally. For a weighted mean, multiply each value by its weight, add those products, and divide by the sum of the weights.
How many values can I enter?
You can enter up to 1,000 numbers. Each must be between −1 trillion and 1 trillion. Results are rounded to up to 12 significant digits.
